Paper 라는 개념보다는 TextBook의 개념이 크기 때문에 IO라는 의미에서 접근하지 말고 그 동안의 공부한 것들은 refresh 하는 개념으로 이해해 볼 것.

Defining IT Business Value Research

The term IT business value is commonly used to refer to the organizational performance impacts of IT, including productivity enhancement, profitability improvement, cost reduction, competitive

 

Efficiency and Effectiveness.

The former emphasizes an internal perspective employing such metrics as cost reduction and productivity enhancement in the assessment of a given business process, or ìdoing things rightî (Drucker 1966). In contrast, effectiveness denotes the achievement of organizational objectives in relation to a firmís external environment and may be manifested in the attainment of competitive advantage, i.e., effecting a unique value-creating strategy with respect to competitors (Barney 1991)

 

효율성과 효과성.

 

효율성 -  ex) 대학의 입장에서 교수대비 학생수가 클 수록 이윤이 난다.

효과성 - 목표 달성도. ex) 수업의 목표의 측면에서 보았을 때 교수대비 학생수가 적을수록 좋다.

 

항상 퍼포먼스 평가시 이런 문제에 도달하게 된다.

 사실, IT 평가할 때, 많은 사람들이 Technology만을 고려하게 된다. 하지만, Information이 정말 중요한 부분이에요. 이런 부분에 있어서는 결국 people을 고려하지 않으면 안되죠. BC분석 같은 경우 지나치게 Efficiency에 집중될 수 있다. 종합적인 차원에서 못 보는 경우가 있을 수 있다.

 

Chosen Theory Base: ResourceBased View of the Firm

이런 맥락에서 IT는 다양한 리소스들 간의 앙상블을 일으키는 것으로 강조하고 있다.

 - Resource는 가치가 있음.

   1) 측정가능성(값을 매길 수 있음.) 2) 희소성. 3)모방 불가능성. 4)비대용성(대체제를 구할 수 없는 정도)

 - IT가 Resource 이다.

IT라는 리소스가 종합적으로 작용하는 위의 프레임 워크 모델에서도 중요한 역할을 하고 있다는 점을 강조하고 싶었다는 것임.

A set of resources 를 조직이라고 정의함.

on time shipping 처럼, IT는 굉장히 중요한 요소로서 작용할 수 있다.

(화물 컨테이너 쌓는 방식을 RFID로 개선하여 국가적으로 물류의 허브가 될 수도 있음)

 

Research Question 에 대해 테스트 해보아야할 명제가 Proposition

Sense-making

 

조직이라는 것. 웹 사이트에가면 조직도가 있고. 기계적인 관점으로 이런식으로 파악하는 것이 맞는가. 조직이라는 것이 결국은 사람인데, 사람이란 해석을 하는 존재가 아닌가. sense-making 의미를 해석하는 방식. 그래서 저자는 organisation대신 organising이란 개념을 사용한다.

 

신포도의 우화. 여우의 추정. 환경도 조직이 종속되는 것이 아니라 끊임없이 적응하고 변화한다. 이런 개념에서 환경에 대한 sense-making을 도입.

 

Grounded Theory 근거이론. 귀납적 추리.

 

이런 연구에서 IMP의 4가지 단계 식별 : Collecting, organizing, processing, maintaining(Ashby, 1956; Taylor, 1968)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sensing이 정말 중요한 부분인데. 덴마크의 레고 기업이 아이들이 장난감을 가지고 놀 때 열심히 쌓아 올린 장난감이 무너지거나 치우면 너무 힘들어 했었다. 여기에서 무너지지 않는 장난감을 만들고자 하였다. IMF이후에, IT기술이 발전하면서 아이들이 게임기를 가지고 놀기 시작함. 여기에서 다시 어른을 타겟으로 바꾸면서 회생함.
